Schedule of the tour
DAY 1: Florence – Cortona
Arrival at Florence Airport- Pick up the rental car (if requested-with supplement). Leaving for your farmhouse in Cortona area, in centrally located area in order to reach easily all the most important sites of this region.
Overnight.
DAY 2: Cortona – Florence – Impruneta – Greve In Chianti – Castellina – Monteriggioni
After breakfast at the hotel, leaving to visit Florence, walking downtown you see Ponte Vecchio, the Duomo, Giotto’s Campanile, The Battistero with the ‘Porte del Paradiso’ and much more.
Free lunch. In the afternoon, leaving for the marvellous Chianti area crossing beautiful Tuscany vineyard.
Wine tour starts in Impruneta that you can visit before having a wine tasting in a local cellar. Tour of the Medieval town of Monteriggioni. Back to the hotel. Overnight.
DAY 3: Siena – San Gimignano
Breakfast at the hotel and leaving to Siena to visit Piazza del Campo, Torre del Mangia and the Duomo. Free lunch and leaving to visit San Giminiano town.
On your way back , stop to a local trattoria for a special meat based dinner, have the famous ‘Bistecca alla Fiorentina’ one of the excellence of the Florentine cooking. Overnight at the hotel
DAY 4: Cortona – Montepulciano – Pienza – Montalcino – Punta Ala
Breakfast at the hotel, then leaving to visit Montepulciano where you can stop in a cellar to taste the Vino Nobile and other local products. Then, you will visit Pienza where you can also stop in a farmhouse and taste the famous Pecorino Cheese. Free time for lunch in Val d’Orcia and then proceed to Montalcino to end your wine tour with the Rosso of Montalcino. At the end of the day you have to move toward a different part of Tuscany, Maremma and Argentario Coast. Overnight.
DAY 5: Argentario Coast
Breakfast at the hotel. Today you will spend some time visiting Argentario Coast and its beaches. Also visit and spend some time in Orbetello , the town by the lagoon, then move toward Porto Santo Stefano and Porto Ercole. Have a fish dinner in a local restaurant. Back to the hotel. Overnight.
DAY 6: Castiglione Della Pescaia – Sorano – Pitigliano
Breakfast at the hotel, we suggest you to spend your last day in Maremma by visiting Castiglione della Pescaia and its beatiful beach, La Rocchette. In the afternoon you can visit the Etruscan Necropolis located just close to Sorano and then visit Pitigliano, may be the most beautiful town in Maremma. Back to the hotel. Overnight.
DAY 7: Maremma – Rome
Breakfast at the hotel, leaving to the Rome Fiumicino Airport. Release of the car (if requested). End of our services.
